Location / Introduction

Vuma Hills Tented camp is perched above the trees stretching over the seemingly endless wilderness south west of Mikumi National Park. 
'Vuma' translated from Kiswahili means "a good rumour that is spread with the blowing wind". Now a reality rather than just a rumour, it is the ideal place to evoke the true spirit of Africa.
Accommodation

Spacious and comfortable tent is one of sixteen, all with a rather old fashioned colonial décor. Sleeping under canvas at Vuma is a far cry from the discomfort usually associated with camping. Complete with shaded wooden veranda at the front and en suite bathroom facilities at the back, there is not much to be asked for.
- Each tent has a double and a single bed
- The tents are mosquito proof
- Electricity is provided by generator and there are lights and sockets (3 pin square 220 V) in each tent. 
- The generator will run from 10am to 2pm and again from 6.30pm to 11pm
- The ensuite bathroom has a shower, basin and toilet
- All water is solar heated

The dining room overlooks the swimming pool creating an oasis of tranquillity in the dusty hot climate of the lowlands in which to savour the varied and well-prepared meals cooked by the camp chefs.
