Just nine log cabins are available as either double or family rooms overlooking the lake and golf course. After a day's exertion, a long hot soak is just what is needed before a sun downer on the bar balcony before moving inside to sit around the roaring log fire.
There are 9 log cabins with bath/shower, toilet and basin, hot water. There is no need for mosquito nets due to the altitude of 6000ft
Each room has either twin or double beds with additional beds added if required.
Drinking water is provided
Electricity is provided by generator until 11pm

Meals of wholesome farm cooking accompanied by plenty of freshly picked vegetables are eaten in the octagonal dining room. After dinner you can enjoy your coffee before the fire in the downstairs lounge, or repair upstairs to the bar. For those still with energy there is a snooker table in a separate room.

Scenic Drives
The highlands are a beautiful area with the bright green tea in stark contrast to the dark forest. A drive through the estates to the dramatic 2000ft drop over the Rift Valley escarpment is a day well spent. You will see the village life of rural Tanzanians for whom tourism is an unheard of business.
Canoeing
Enjoy a magical canoe trip around
the lake surrounded by rainforest
to discover the bird life.
Golf
For serious golfers, there is an 18 hole golf course 35km away at the Mufindi Club. However, we are constructing a 9 hole course on the farm below the lodge, ideal for a few practise holes before dinner, or fun game with the family or a starter for beginners.

Walking
An evening stroll around the lake, or a hike through the villages, tea or forest, the choice is yours.
Bird Watching
There is a good variety of bird life on and around the farm. (Over 100 bird Species)
Fly Fishing
Fly fishing in Tanzania! An unusual sport to find in Africa, but the lakes are well stocked with Rainbow trout just waiting to be fished. The lodge can supply tackle and also instruction for any first timers. Trout breed in the wild in the cold mountain rivers and streams ensuring survival and sustainability.
Horse Riding
There are endless paths and tracks to explore on horse back with little or no traffic to worry about. The horses are tough and very sure-footed, suitable for any level of rider. A guide from The Lodge will accompany you on your rides, both for safety and to make sure that you don't get lost amongst the tea or forests. An exhilarating experience, or horseback safari is also a fantastic way to view the scenery.
Mountain Biking
At an average altitude of 2000m, and with plenty of up and downs, riding in the Highlands is no picnic, but if you are keen, the tracks and paths are all yours! |
